The company status determines what type of access a company has on Zeal. We also use it to communicate the status of a company’s migration.
Companies created with a Test Key will be automatically set to Live, but will interact with our service as a test company and not send out real data. Any Company created with a Production Key will need to have one of the following statuses:
Initial Onboarding - This is a created company that has yet to complete their onboarding process.
Payroll Access Needed - This is an onboarded company that has run payroll in the current tax year with another payroll provider and will require a payroll migration to Zeal. Companies in this status will need to provide the necessary payroll reports (on-premise payroll) or give Zeal administrator-level access to their payroll provider’s online portal. The company will need to submit a support ticket to the Zeal team in order to request a payroll migration.
Migration Pending - This status is for onboarded companies that have provided Zeal with 1) all necessary payroll reports (Zeal to confirm that all reports have been received) or 2) payroll administrator access to their provider’s portal. In this status, Zeal is currently migrating data.
Note: Once Zeal confirms that all necessary payroll information has been received for a successful migration, there is a 5 business day SLA for Zeal to complete the migration.
Payment Permission Pending -
- For non-migration companies (skip migration = true), this is the default status for a company after it has completed onboarding.
- For companies that require a migration, this status is given when the historical data has been successfully migrated.
- I order to upgrade from this status to Live, the company must a) creates work locations, b) creates employee(s) and c) enter available state tax information and the federal tax card in the Tax Setup Page.
Live - A live company is able to run payroll and make payments.
