Work locations are the addresses where employees physically perform their work. Zeal uses work locations to properly tax the employees. Local and state taxes are typically withheld based on where the employees perform work rather than their residential address.
Adding Work Locations
- On the Employer Dashboard, select Work Locations
- Next, select Add New Location
- Fill in the new location card (Location Name, Work Site ID (if applicable), full address)
- Once card is completed, hit Create
- The new work location will be displayed on the Work Locations page
- Work Locations are assigned to an Employee during Employee creation as a prerequisite
- Note: A Work Location cannot be a PO Box or Non-Deliverable Address
Assigning an existing Employee a new work location
- Navigate to the employee’s Profile Information page
- Select the pencil icon on the upper right corner of the Profile Information box
- Select the work location that you want to assign to the employee on the Work Location drop-down menu
- To save the change, select Update on the lower right corner of the Profile Information box
- The employee will now have state and local taxes withheld appropriate to the new work location
