As payroll is run, it's important to keep track of what holidays banks recognize. Payroll runs are calculated using business days, not calendar days—with that in mind, holidays are not recognized as a business day.
For example, if there is a holiday on Friday and an employer wants to have their check date on Monday, the cutoff time to create an employer check would need to be created by Wednesday (instead of by Thursday if there was no holiday).
