Overview

Transactions gives you a real-time ledger of every payment that moves through your company's account in Zeal including net pay credits, company debits, refunds, direct pay, and more along with the current status of each one.

Transactions is available as its own item in the left-hand menu, above Organization.

Before You Begin

It's helpful to have the following on hand before you search for a specific transaction:

  • The approximate amount or date of the transaction

  • The name of the employee, contractor, or customer account involved

  • The transaction type you're looking for (for example, Net pay credit or Refund)

Open Transactions

Select Transactions from the left-hand menu. Every transaction is listed in a table with the following columns:

  • Amount

  • Status

  • Transaction type

  • Source

  • Destination

  • Date

Use the arrows in the top right of the table to page through results.

Search or Filter Transactions

Use the Search bar to find a transaction by keyword. Select Status for a quick filter on a transaction's current state:

  • Canceled

  • Processing

  • Settled

  • Returned

  • Pending

For more specific results, select Filter to open the full filter panel. You can filter by:

  • Amount - an exact amount, or a minimum and/or maximum

  • Status - Canceled, Processing, Settled, Returned, or Pending

  • Transaction type - Company debit, Net pay credit, Refund, Clawback, Direct pay, Top-up, Payout, Wallet transaction, Invoice bank transfer, or Business card

  • Source / Destination - Zeal, Company, Worker, or Customer account

  • Date - a preset range (such as Last quarter, Next 30 days, or Last year), or a custom From/To range

Review Transaction

Details Select any row to open the Transaction details panel. Depending on the transaction, you'll see:

  • Amount and Transaction ID, with a copy button for the ID

  • Employee ID, if the transaction involves a worker

  • View in context - jumps to where the transaction originated (for example, the related payroll or bill)

  • From and To - the accounts the money moved between

  • Payment details - Method, Type, Connection, and any External note

  • Timeline - a chronological history of the transaction's status, with a timestamp for each change (for example, Processing followed by Settled)

After Reviewing a Transaction

The Timeline and status on a transaction update automatically as it moves through processing, so you can always check back on the Transactions page to confirm a payment has settled.
